Good design belongs in daily life. It should be touched, carried, washed, used, and enjoyed rather than only admired from a distance.
There is a difference between designing something for display and designing something people will reach for every morning.
The ordinary moments matter. A cup of coffee before the house wakes up or tea at the end of a long day gives an object its real setting.
Comfort, durability, and ease are part of the design. Beauty matters, but so does the way something serves the person using it.
The most honest design is present day after day. It does not ask to be protected from life. It becomes part of it.
