North Aurora is a welcoming Fox River community where trails, parks, and neighborhood traditions are part of everyday life. Island Park, Red Oak Nature Center, the riverfront, and North Aurora Days give residents a strong connection to place and visitors a refreshing reason to explore.
The collaboration
After I showed Kacie at Krema Coffee the Plainfield Mug, she asked if I would make mugs for her other locations. That invitation led me to create a North Aurora Mug, with its own local story and artwork.
I looked into the places and details that give North Aurora its character, then drew them by hand and arranged them around the mug. It was fun to learn about another community through the drawing process and to continue the collaboration with Kacie and Krema.
I love that the finished mug can be discovered at a local coffee shop and enjoyed by people who know and love North Aurora.
