The collaboration
The Warrenville Mug grew from time spent with friends who live there and conversations about the community they love. Their stories naturally sparked my interest in creating a design that would celebrate Warrenville.
I approached Monica at Cora Coffee about carrying the mug, and her enthusiasm made the collaboration especially fun. The first batch sold out quickly, followed by a second and then a third. The community’s response has been wonderful.
The Warrenville water tower is my favorite detail. It is such a charming local landmark and was especially sweet to capture in the drawing.
The story behind the mug
Ashley partnered with Cora Coffee to create a mug rooted in Warrenville.
Research and community input highlighted forest preserves, prairie trails, local art, and community celebrations.
Ashley translated each selected place and symbol into an individual hand-drawn illustration.
The drawings were refined and arranged into a continuous design that rewards a closer look.
The finished mug became a locally available keepsake through Cora Coffee.

The creative process
I drew Warrenville Grove, Blackwell Forest Preserve, Illinois Prairie Path, and Albright Studio as individual pieces before bringing them together. Their different shapes and stories gave me the rhythm for a wraparound composition that feels layered, personal, and specific to Warrenville.
