Community
Warrenville is a friendly community where forest preserves, trails, local history, and the West Branch DuPage River are close to everyday life. Warrenville Grove, Blackwell, the Prairie Path, Albright Studio, and Summer Daze give residents natural beauty and traditions worth celebrating.
The collaboration
The Warrenville Mug grew from time spent with friends who live there and conversations about the community they love. Their stories naturally sparked my interest in creating a design that would celebrate Warrenville.
I approached Monica at Cora Coffee about carrying the mug, and her enthusiasm made the collaboration especially fun. The first batch sold out quickly, followed by a second and then a third. The community’s response has been wonderful.
The Warrenville water tower is my favorite detail. It is such a charming local landmark and was especially sweet to capture in the drawing.
The story behind the mug
Inside the illustration
This 127-acre forest preserve combines woodland trails, picnic areas, and West Branch DuPage River shoreline, welcoming visitors since 1923.
Blackwell connects Warrenville’s outdoor landscape with the Illinois Prairie Path and West Branch DuPage River Trail network.
This regional trail follows portions of the former Chicago, Aurora and Elgin Railroad, turning an old commuter corridor into a route for outdoor recreation.
A former Methodist church became the Albright Studio and Art Gallery and now houses Warrenville’s city museum.
Warrenville’s Summer Daze brings neighbors together for live music, local food, business booths, and family entertainment.
The river winds through Warrenville Grove and Blackwell, where forest-preserve access points invite paddlers onto the West Branch.
