The collaboration

A personal connection, drawn into every detail.

The Sioux Narrows and Nestor Falls Mug began simply from a love for this beautiful part of Northwestern Ontario. While living in the region, our family sometimes traveled from Emo toward Kenora and passed through the community. The water, rock cuts, and changing northern landscape made those drives memorable.

The Sioux Narrows Bridge naturally became part of the artwork, but one of my favorite elements is the local arts festival. I love that a small community has created such a meaningful place for artists and the arts.

The mug is available at The Log Tavern, where visitors can take home a useful reminder of this remarkable corner of Lake of the Woods.

Beginning with an unmistakable Sioux Narrows / Nestor Falls landmark.

Sioux Narrows Bridge gave me the architectural starting point for this design. I balanced it with Nestor Falls, Lake of the Woods, and Fishing Traditions, drawing each one separately before fitting them together into a continuous view of Sioux Narrows / Nestor Falls.
