Community
Atikokan is a warm northern community surrounded by the wild beauty of Quetico country. Little Falls, Steep Rock, boreal wildlife, and a proud canoeing heritage make it a remarkable home base for residents and an unforgettable destination for anyone drawn to the outdoors.
The collaboration
Atikokan’s identity as the Canoeing Capital of Canada made this such an enjoyable mug to create. My husband Matt spent a great deal of time canoeing as a child, especially through Boy Scouts, so the generations of Scouts and other paddlers who come to this beautiful area felt personally meaningful to us.
I first partnered with Tina at TS Wellness to offer the Atikokan Mug and a coordinating tumbler. After her shop closed, the mug found a new home at Atikokan Pharmacy, and it has been great to collaborate with their team.
We were genuinely amazed by the community’s response. The mug continues to sell well, and the enthusiasm of the entire town has been such an encouragement. Atikokan is beautiful, welcoming, and a place I would love to celebrate through more artwork in the future.
