Community
Schaumburg is a dynamic community where shopping, sports, nature, history, and neighborhood life all have room to thrive. Woodfield, Spring Valley, the Schweikher House, Wintrust Field, and local parks offer residents and visitors something meaningful to enjoy in every season.
The collaboration
Our family has several layers of connection to Schaumburg. My husband Matt worked at Friendship Village, where his father served as CFO, and my father-in-law also worked at Motorola. Like so many Chicagoland families, we also grew up making trips to Woodfield Mall, so Schaumburg holds plenty of shopping memories for us.
I put the mug together with the women at Sweet Reserve, and it was such a fun project. Their Schaumburg location is absolutely beautiful, and the community’s response to the release was wonderful.
The giraffe from the LEGO Store is one of my favorite playful elements, and I also enjoyed drawing the Schaumburg Township District Library. Together, the details capture both the familiar landmarks and the everyday experiences people associate with Schaumburg.

Woodfield Mall brings more than two million square feet of shopping to Schaumburg, making it one of the country’s largest retail destinations.
Built in 1938, the Schweikher House was architect Paul Schweikher’s home and studio, blending Eastern and Western design influences.
Spring Valley’s nature center introduces Schaumburg’s 135-acre refuge of fields, forests, marshes, and streams.
Wintrust Field is the home of the Schaumburg Boomers, with a ballpark that opened in 1999.
The Schaumburg Township District Library’s Central Library anchors the Town Square area on South Roselle Road.
