Community
Mount Prospect is a connected village with a lively downtown, strong neighborhood traditions, and recreation close to home. The Metra station, downtown clock, Randhurst Village, Lions Memorial Park, and local history create a community identity residents recognize at a glance.
The collaboration
After the Arlington Heights Mug did well at CoCo & Blu, their team asked me to create a mug for their new CoCo & Maple location in Mount Prospect. I was happy to continue our collaboration with a design made for the community around their new shop.
I enjoyed learning about Mount Prospect’s history and finding the little details that make the village interesting. One of the most fun discoveries was its connection to the Bluesmobile in The Blues Brothers: in the film, the car is described as a former Mount Prospect police car.
I drew the selected places individually and arranged them into a continuous mug design. Seeing the Mount Prospect Mug find its home at CoCo & Maple has been a lovely continuation of the partnership.

Mount Prospect’s station links the village with Chicago and neighboring suburbs on Metra’s Union Pacific Northwest Line.
Randhurst Village reimagines Mount Prospect’s former enclosed mall as an open-air center for shopping, dining, and entertainment.
Lions Memorial Park is a Mount Prospect recreation hub with a playground, athletic fields, and community gathering spaces.
The Mount Prospect Historical Society preserves village history through its 1906 house museum and restored one-room Central School.
Established in 1926, Mt. Prospect Golf Club carries a century of local golfing history on South See Gwun Avenue.
