The collaboration

A local story, drawn one detail at a time.

Ashley created this hometown design for Sweet Reserve’s community of customers. The collaboration brings local illustration into an everyday coffee ritual, with details chosen to feel familiar to the people who live nearby.

Each element began as an individual hand drawing. Ashley refined the artwork and arranged the pieces into a continuous design made to wrap around a ceramic mug, creating a keepsake that feels specific to Lombard.

The creative process

Starting with the setting that shapes Lombard.

I began this mug with Lilacia Park, then built outward through Maple Street Chapel, Lombard Historical Museum, and Illinois Prairie Path. Drawing those elements by hand let me preserve their individual character while tying them together through the landscape.
