The collaboration
The Elmhurst Mug began with local research and a collaboration with Brewpoint Coffee. Ashley translated the community’s recognizable places and shared references into an original drawing designed for everyday use.
The Elmhurst Mug is part of Ashley’s ongoing partnership with Brewpoint Coffee, supported by regular local sales and continued coordination with the shop.
Each element began as an individual hand drawing. Ashley refined the artwork and arranged the pieces into a continuous design made to wrap around a ceramic mug, creating a keepsake that feels specific to Elmhurst.
The story behind the mug
Ashley partnered with Brewpoint Coffee to create a mug rooted in Elmhurst.
Research and community input highlighted parks, art, education, rail history, and a lively downtown.
Ashley translated each selected place and symbol into an individual hand-drawn illustration.
The drawings were refined and arranged into a continuous design that rewards a closer look.
The finished mug became a locally available keepsake through Brewpoint Coffee.

The creative process
I began this mug with Wilder Park, then built outward through Elmhurst Art Museum, York Theatre, and Elmhurst University Old Main. Drawing those elements by hand let me preserve their individual character while tying them together through the landscape.
