The collaboration

A local story, drawn one detail at a time.

The Hinsdale Mug began with local research and a collaboration with Cafe La Fortuna. Ashley translated the community’s recognizable places and shared references into an original drawing designed for everyday use.

The Hinsdale Mug’s continued sales at Cafe La Fortuna led to another 72-mug production run for the fall and winter season.

Each element began as an individual hand drawing. Ashley refined the artwork and arranged the pieces into a continuous design made to wrap around a ceramic mug, creating a keepsake that feels specific to Hinsdale.

The creative process

Choosing the details that feel unmistakably Hinsdale.

I built this design around Downtown Hinsdale, Robbins Park, Hinsdale Metra Station, and Fullersburg Woods. Each was drawn on its own, then adjusted and arranged until the finished wrap felt less like a collection of icons and more like a walk through Hinsdale.

A meaningful local gift

Made for the people who carry Hinsdale with them.
