Community
Bolingbrook is a growing, energetic community with family recreation woven into everyday life. The Promenade, Hidden Lakes, Pelican Harbor, and an extensive network of parks give residents and visitors plenty of ways to shop, gather, play, and enjoy time together.
The collaboration
As I thought about more towns to draw, Bolingbrook stood out as a community with plenty to celebrate. Its parks, gathering places, and everyday life gave me a starting point for a mug that residents could recognize as their own.
I researched the local details, drew them individually, and brought them together in a wraparound design. Wholey Granoly became a local home for the finished mug, making it easy for neighbors to discover and share a keepsake of Bolingbrook.
It has been lovely to see the mug become a hometown gift and to celebrate the community through a local shop.

The Promenade Bolingbrook is an open-air shopping and entertainment destination on East Boughton Road.
Hidden Lakes Trout Farm offers fishing and a bait shop beside Hidden Oaks Preserve in Bolingbrook.
Boughton Ridge is Bolingbrook’s nine-hole executive golf course, with contoured fairways across 45 acres.
Bolingbrook Golf Club features an 18-hole championship course designed by Arthur Hills and Steve Forrest.
Pelican Harbor combines indoor and outdoor pools and water slides for year-round recreation in Bolingbrook.
Bolingbrook Village Hall on West Briarcliff Road is the meeting place for the village’s mayor and board of trustees.
