The Bolingbrook Mug began with local research and a collaboration with Wholey Granoly. Ashley translated the community’s recognizable places and shared references into an original drawing designed for everyday use.
The Bolingbrook Mug has continued through Wholey Granoly, with Ashley following its remaining inventory as the collection moved through the shop.
Each element began as an individual hand drawing. Ashley refined the artwork and arranged the pieces into a continuous design made to wrap around a ceramic mug, creating a keepsake that feels specific to Bolingbrook.
The story behind the mug
Ashley partnered with Wholey Granoly to create a mug rooted in Bolingbrook.
Research and community input highlighted parks, recreation, shopping, and the places that bring the village together.
Ashley translated each selected place and symbol into an individual hand-drawn illustration.
The drawings were refined and arranged into a continuous design that rewards a closer look.
The finished mug became a locally available keepsake through Wholey Granoly.

The creative process
I built this design around The Promenade Bolingbrook, Hidden Lakes Historic Trout Farm, Boughton Ridge, and Bolingbrook Golf Club. Each was drawn on its own, then adjusted and arranged until the finished wrap felt less like a collection of icons and more like a walk through Bolingbrook.
