Oak Brook is known for beautiful open spaces, distinctive architecture, shopping, and a long tradition of recreation. Graue Mill, Fullersburg Woods, Mayslake Hall, Oakbrook Center, and polo grounds give the community a polished character with plenty of natural beauty.

The collaboration
Oak Brook is part of our family’s everyday Chicagoland life. It is where I get my nails done, where I love shopping with our kids, and where my husband and I go for dates and time at the mall. We enjoy many of the same things that draw families and visitors to Oak Brook.
With Blackberry Market opening a location there, it made perfect sense to collaborate on an Oak Brook Mug. Their location is absolutely beautiful, and the mug has done wonderfully. I sometimes joke that I am grateful when people buy my mugs because it gives me an excuse to spend the proceeds in Oak Brook.
The story behind the mug
Ashley partnered with Blackberry Market to create a mug rooted in Oak Brook.
Research and community input highlighted shopping, historic estates, natural spaces, golf, and equestrian traditions.
Ashley translated each selected place and symbol into an individual hand-drawn illustration.
The drawings were refined and arranged into a continuous design that rewards a closer look.
The finished mug became a locally available keepsake through Blackberry Market.

The creative process
I drew Oakbrook Center, Graue Mill, Fullersburg Woods, and Mayslake Hall as individual pieces before bringing them together. Their different shapes and stories gave me the rhythm for a wraparound composition that feels layered, personal, and specific to Oak Brook.
