Community
Set along the Fox River, Algonquin brings together scenic trails, welcoming neighborhoods, and the character of its Old Town district. From Cornish Park to Founders’ Days, it is a community shaped by gathering places, local traditions, and the kind of everyday beauty that feels like home.
The collaboration
The Algonquin Mug was my husband Matt’s idea. He grew up next door in Crystal Lake, and Algonquin was a place his family visited often. When he suggested creating a mug for the community, it felt like a natural extension of a place already connected to his childhood.
As we looked for the right local partner, we knew Riverbottom Ice Cream served coffee from Conscious Cup. That connection made the shop feel like a wonderful home for the mug. It has been great working with Robert and Bobby, and we are so thankful for the way the Algonquin community has received the design.
Researching the town introduced us to history we had never known. The early automobile hill climbs were especially fascinating and became one of my favorite parts of learning what makes Algonquin distinctive.
