A hometown mug purchased as a thoughtful gift has entered its fourth day of regular use by the woman who bought it.
“I just wanted to see how it felt,” she explained, drinking her second coffee from it.
The mug, originally selected because her sister had grown up in the illustrated town, now occupies the most convenient position beside the coffee maker.
The purchaser maintains that the gift has not been compromised.
“I can wash it.”
However, sources close to the situation report that she has begun referring to it as “my town mug” and has discarded the original wrapping.
At press time, she was checking the shop’s hours to buy her sister a different one.
