What began as a straightforward drive to visit relatives now includes four coffee shops, two downtown districts, and a town described by the family’s mother as “basically on the way.”
Her husband confirmed that “basically” currently accounted for an additional ninety-three miles.
“I thought we could stretch our legs,” she said, presenting a schedule containing shop hours, mug availability, and no designated opportunities to stretch anyone’s legs.
The children were initially resistant until pastries were introduced into the proposal.
By the third stop, the family had adopted a division of labor: one child photographed the mug display while another checked whether the next shop had cinnamon rolls.
The relatives have been told not to hold dinner.
