The collaboration

A local story, drawn one detail at a time.

The St. Augustine Mug began with local research and a collaboration with Juniper Market. Ashley translated the community’s recognizable places and shared references into an original drawing designed for everyday use.

The St. Augustine Mug is carried by Juniper Market, where active local sales and inventory coordination have continued after launch.

Each element began as an individual hand drawing. Ashley refined the artwork and arranged the pieces into a continuous design made to wrap around a ceramic mug, creating a keepsake that feels specific to St. Augustine.

The story behind the mug

The people and places behind The St. Augustine Mug.

  1. Juniper Market shares the community story

Ashley partnered with Juniper Market to create a mug rooted in St. Augustine.

  2. The character of the place comes into focus

Research and community input highlighted Spanish colonial history, coastal landmarks, distinctive architecture, and the streets of the nation’s oldest city.

  3. St. Augustine takes shape

Ashley translated each selected place and symbol into an individual hand-drawn illustration.

  4. One community story from every side

The drawings were refined and arranged into a continuous design that rewards a closer look.

  5. Available through Juniper Market

The finished mug became a locally available keepsake through Juniper Market.

The creative process

Choosing the details that feel unmistakably St. Augustine.

I built this design around Castillo de San Marcos, Bridge of Lions, St. Augustine Lighthouse, and Flagler College. Each was drawn on its own, then adjusted and arranged until the finished wrap felt less like a collection of icons and more like a walk through St. Augustine.

A meaningful local gift

Made for the people who carry St. Augustine with them.

Whether someone has just moved to St. Augustine, Florida, is preparing to leave, or still calls it home from miles away, this hometown mug offers a warm and useful connection to the community.
