The Southport Corridor brings together neighborhood warmth, Chicago architecture, independent shops, and a lively arts scene. The Music Box Theatre, Brown Line, nearby Wrigley Field, and beloved street festivals make it a place locals love to call home and visitors enjoy experiencing on foot.
The collaboration
The Southport Mug was created at the invitation of the Bakehouse team. I first made the Roscoe Village design for them, then followed it with a mug for their Southport location.
It has been great working with their team. What I enjoy most about Southport is the wonderful mix of shopping and places to eat, and the artwork celebrates the lively neighborhood experience that brings people back.

Chicago’s Southport Corridor brings shopping, dining, and neighborhood life together along a distinctive stretch of Lakeview.
The Music Box Theatre opened on Southport Avenue in 1929, with its original auditorium evoking an outdoor Mediterranean theater beneath stars and clouds.
The Southport Brown Line station connects the corridor with Chicago’s elevated rail network, with service toward Kimball and the Loop.
Built in 1914, nearby Wrigley Field has been the Chicago Cubs’ home since 1916.
Locally owned clothing and accessory boutiques help make the Southport Corridor a distinctive North Side shopping destination.
Events such as Southport Art Fest bring art and neighborhood gatherings to the corridor’s streets.
