The Southport Mug, hand drawn by Artist Ashley Ann
Community
Southport, Illinois
The Southport Corridor brings together neighborhood warmth, Chicago architecture, independent shops, and a lively arts scene. The Music Box Theatre, Brown Line, nearby Wrigley Field, and beloved street festivals make it a place locals love to call home and visitors enjoy experiencing on foot.
The Southport Mug was created at the invitation of the Bakehouse team. I first made the Roscoe Village design for them, then followed it with a mug for their Southport location.
It has been great working with their team. What I enjoy most about Southport is the wonderful mix of shopping and places to eat, and the artwork celebrates the lively neighborhood experience that brings people back.

The hand-drawn process behind The Southport Mug
The creative process
Making room for the many sides of Southport.
Southport Corridor and Music Box Theatre gave this design its first direction, while Southport Brown Line Station and Wrigley Field added another side of the community’s character. I refined the spacing by hand so every turn of the mug reveals something familiar.
A meaningful local gift
A hometown gift that feels unmistakably Southport.
A thoughtful choice for a realtor closing gift, new homeowner, or longtime resident, the artwork turns familiar Southport, Illinois landmarks into a useful keepsake rather than an ordinary souvenir.
