Community
Hendersonville is a mountain town with a welcoming Main Street, beautiful surroundings, and traditions rooted in apple country. The Bearfootin’ Art Walk, historic courthouse, depot, and views from Jump Off Rock make it a cherished home and a delightful destination in every season.
The collaboration
I began the Hendersonville Mug while spending time there with my mother- and father-in-law, who live in the community. It was a fun project that allowed me to draw a place connected to our family and to capture some of the beauty we enjoy when visiting.
The mountains, black bears, and North Carolina Apple Festival were especially enjoyable to include. Black Bear Coffee felt like the perfect home for the design, and it has been great working with owner Mark Pavao and his team.
The mugs have sold incredibly well, and I am very thankful for the way Hendersonville has welcomed the artwork.
