The collaboration

A local story, drawn one detail at a time.

The Brookfield Mug began with local research and a collaboration with Gosia’s. Ashley translated the community’s recognizable places and shared references into an original drawing designed for everyday use.

Each element began as an individual hand drawing. Ashley refined the artwork and arranged the pieces into a continuous design made to wrap around a ceramic mug, creating a keepsake that feels specific to Brookfield.

The creative process

Finding the rhythm of Brookfield, one drawing at a time.

I drew Brookfield Zoo Chicago, Galloping Ghost Arcade, Grossdale Station, and Salt Creek as individual pieces before bringing them together. Their different shapes and stories gave me the rhythm for a wraparound composition that feels layered, personal, and specific to Brookfield.

A meaningful local gift

Made for the people who carry Brookfield with them.

Whether someone has just moved to Brookfield, Illinois, is preparing to leave, or still calls it home from miles away, this hometown mug offers a warm and useful connection to the community.
