Lemont was a project I wanted to get right rather than rush through. The local elements were selected to give residents the pleasure of recognizing their own community, including details a generic Illinois design would miss.

A newcomer could use this drawing as a small introduction to Lemont. Start with Illinois and Michigan Canal, then look for Lemont Quarries and Historic Downtown Lemont. Giving the mug with a note about why one of those places matters makes the gift personal without assuming the recipient knows every reference yet.
